Terms of Service
Last updated: September 26, 2026
1. What PDForge is
PDForge is a free, client-side web tool that converts static PDFs into fillable PDF forms. It is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind, and may be modified or discontinued at any time.
2. Your responsibilities
- You must have the right to upload, modify, and export any document you process with PDForge.
- You are responsible for reviewing exported PDFs for accuracy before relying on them — field detection is automated and may misplace fields.
- If you use AI detection, you supply your own Anthropic API key and are responsible for any charges, rate limits, or terms imposed by Anthropic, as well as for complying with Anthropic's usage policies.
- Keep your API key private. Anyone with access to your browser profile can read keys stored in local storage.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use PDForge to create misleading or fraudulent documents, to forge signatures, to infringe intellectual property, or to violate any applicable law. Signatures applied through PDForge are electronic marks you create yourself; they are not certified digital signatures and may not satisfy legal or institutional signature requirements in your jurisdiction.
4. No warranty; limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PDForge is provided without warranties — express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. In no event shall the maintainers be liable for any loss of data, documents, or profits, or for any indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the tool. Because all processing happens in your browser, data loss from clearing site data, switching devices, or browser failures is your responsibility.
5. Intellectual property
The PDForge interface and code are made available via the project's public repository; documents and field layouts you create remain yours. Third-party libraries (PDF.js, pdf-lib) and fonts are subject to their own licenses.
6. Changes
These terms may be updated by posting a revised version on this page with a new revision date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
