Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 26, 2026
Short version
PDForge runs entirely in your browser. Your PDFs, fields, and signatures never touch our servers — because there are no servers. The only time any data leaves your device is when you explicitly run AI detection, which sends page images to Anthropic's API using your own API key.
Data we do not collect
- We do not receive, store, or process your PDF files. Rendering, editing, and export all happen locally via JavaScript libraries loaded from public CDNs.
- We use no cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels, and no accounts.
- We never see your Anthropic API key. It is stored only in your browser's local storage, on your device.
Data stored on your device
PDForge uses your browser's local storage (keys prefixed with pdforge_) for:
apiKey— your Anthropic API key, if you save one.model, fontSize— your settings.templates— field layouts you save (signature images are stripped out).autosave— your in-progress field layout so a refresh doesn't lose work.
You can erase all of it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this page, or by removing the API key with the Clear button in Settings.
AI detection and third parties
If you enter an Anthropic API key and run Detect Fields, rendered page images are sent directly from your browser to api.anthropic.com for analysis. That transmission is governed by Anthropic's privacy policy and terms, not this one, and any usage may count against your Anthropic billing. Offline options — importing embedded fields and the local text scan — make no network calls at all. Public CDN hosts (cdnjs for PDF libraries, Google Fonts) may receive standard request metadata such as your IP address when those resources load, per their own policies.
Children
PDForge is a general-purpose utility with no age-gated content, but it is not directed at children and we collect no data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new revision date.
